Hyundai has rolled out the all-new 2018 Accent at the Orange County International Auto Show. The 2018 model is all-new and a much better looking car than it had been in years past. Hyundai also notes that the car has the latest safety and convenience features. The 2018 Hyundai Accent will land in dealerships this fall.

The car has more advanced high-strength steel in its construction using 54.5% of that steel in construction for more rigidity and better driving dynamics. The stiffer chassis also helps make the car quieter and improves collision energy management without adding weight, making the car safer. Hyundai uses Motor-Driven Power Steering to adjust steering to driving conditions.

The design of the car is all new and it has available LED daytime running lights. The car rides on 17-inch alloy wheels and has LED turn indicators in the side mirrors. The 2018 Accent is larger and had more interior room than the previous version with 1.2-inches more width, 0.6-inches longer overall, and the wheelbase is 0.4-inches longer.

The interior has been updated with a standard backup cameras. A 5-inch screen is standard in the dash and a 7-inch color TFT LCD is optional. Heated front seats are available and the rear seats now fold 60/40 as a standard feature. Passenger volume is now 103.9 cubic feet, that bump classifies the 2018 Account as a compact car, rather than sub-compact.

The 2018 Accent has more interior volume than the 2017 Ford Fiesta (which is not coming to the US for 2018) and the 2017 Yaris iA. Hyundai fits the car with a 1.6L GDI Dual-CVVT 4-cylinder engine and a standard 6-speed manual transmission. A 6-speed automatic is an option across the board. That engine makes 130 hp and 119 lb-ft torque. The car also has an available smart hands free trunk release and the optional stereo supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Forward collision avoidance is optional as well.
